Hawkeye Firearms is a veteran-owned and operated firearms manufacturer and dealer based in Wayne, New Jersey. We’re one of the very few Type 7 FFLs in the State, which means we don’t just sell guns - we build them. From custom pistols and precision rifles to tactical shotguns, every firearm we manufacture is designed for performance and reliability.

Our team brings real-world experience to every aspect of our work. Our experience was earned in the field, on the range, and in real-life scenarios. Who is Greg from Hawkeye?

Greg Mazloom, The Owner and operator of Hawkeye Firearms, started Hawkeye in 2020. The premise was simple. North Jersey deserved a better gun shopping experience than what they were getting. Greg began his weapons knowledge and skills while serving Active Duty from 2008 to 2012 in the US NAVY as an Aviation Ordnance Tech. As Team Leader, Greg was tasked with everything from the squadrons’ 9mm handguns and M4 rifles to aircraft bombs, missiles, rockets, and Torpedoes. Reaching the rank of E5 Petty Officer 2nd class in under three years. Greg was stationed in NAS Brunswick, Maine and NAS Jacksonville, FL as well as multiple deployments in the theaters such as The Horn of Africa conducting Anti-Piracy missions while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT); Sigonella, Italy during Operation New Dawn; and Issa Air Base, Bahrain during Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Greg was awarded 2 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals for proficiency and excellence in his duties while serving in combat zones.

Weapons experience was gained from real-world application, not an air-conditioned classroom.

After completing his service with the United States Navy, Greg finished his college degree at Montclair State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. During his duration at university, Greg worked two jobs, one as a Range Safety Officer (1 year) at a local range, and also as a Private Investigator (4 years). Greg’s degree and experience led him to the position of Special Investigator for the Department of Defense (DOD). For six years, Greg held credentials and conducted investigations for the DOD, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), Department of Justice (DOJ), and two other organizations that cannot be disclosed as a condition in his Top Secret security clearance. While working as a Special Investigator, Greg also worked side jobs, including two positions with top NYC-based security firms, where he gained experience in large-scale event security, as well as security consulting. He also during this duration was a member of the original crew of another local range, which lasted about two years.

Then came 2020, the COVID-19 Pandemic. Greg obtained his first Type 1 FFL at his home. The thought was that so many dealers around were gauging during the pandemic, that just maybe Greg and his friends could just not get ripped off. Turns out not getting ripped off was a popular idea. The kitchen table was booked for transfers and customs builds every evening. The customer base grew and grew until it was time to leave government employment and take the risk of starting his own business. No fancy construction engineers, no fancy lawyers or accountants, and no multi-million dollar investors. Just a guy starting a shop in the town he grew up in with a promise to be fair and honest.
